We are grateful for you, our community
An opportunity for gratitude is welcome at any time, however, in this moment, I am particularly grateful for our students and you – our incredible community. Our students have struggled since the events of 10/7 to balance being college students with the rise in antisemitism nationwide and daily incidents on our many campuses, but we find strength in our Jewish communal family.
As detailed in our last update, student safety continues to be our top priority. North Carolina Hillel remains at the forefront of Jewish unity and hope on all eight of our campuses:
Over 30 NC Hillel students attended the March for Israel Rally in DC, representing 5 campuses
UNC Chapel Hill Hillel Vice President Alana (UNC ‘24) wrote an op-ed in the Daily Tar Heel appealing to her classmates to think critically about the Israel-Hamas war
Link has been more active than ever with nine programs across the state this month, including programs like App Hillel’s Tacos and Torah and UNC Charlotte’s Mezuzah Making Session
Hillel @ NC State held a special Challah Bake in NC State’s Test Kitchen

Today, I’m grateful for our unity and hope for the future – but more than that – I appreciate the resilience and strength of our students more every day. Our eight campuses are filled to the brim with young people seeking Jewish life, and your partnership ensures the strength of that commitment every day.
Thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and your commitment to making Hillel a philanthropic priority. Our campus Hillels across North Carolina will continue to grow and thrive because of your care and support.
May this Thanksgiving be filled with joy, and with the company of those near and dear to you.
Am Yisrael Chai,
Hannah Spinrad
